Suboxone® is safe
When taken as directed, Buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone®) is commonly viewed as a safer alternative to methadone, with a reduced likelihood of sedation and overdose.
Suboxone® is effective
For most patients, the suggested effective dose can be attained within 1-2 days without risk, whereas effective methadone dosing is inconsistent among individuals and may require weeks to accomplish.
Suboxone® is easily available
Medical practitioners who are licensed and trained can prescribe Buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone®) in any treatment environment, while methadone is subject to strict regulation and can only be dispensed by federally and state licensed opioid treatment programs. The standardization of care at such programs restricts the customization of treatment.
How does Aegis Medical work?
Schedule an Appointment
You’ll first meet with an experienced addiction professional who will learn about you and your experience with substance use. This will help us identify your health goals and to determine a proper treatment strategy. Each patient's unique situation is accounted for when formulating an individualized treatment plan. We will answer any questions you have about our program so you can feel confident about your decision to get help. All visits are confidential, including this first screening visit.
Provider Visits
After your initial consultation, you will be scheduled to meet with a board-certified addiction medicine professional. During this visit, an Aegis professional will learn more about you and will work with you to develop a unique treatment plan that is right for your situation. Visits can be conducted from the comfort of your home on a smartphone or computer, as well as in person in one of our office locations.
Prescription Refills
Aegis will electronically send your prescriptions to a local pharmacy of your choice. Typically, Aegis medical visits and accompanying prescription refills occur virtually from your smartphone or computer either weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending upon patient need.
Behavioral Health Resources
Research shows that treatment for substance use disorders is most successful when combined with mental health support. At Aegis, we offer online visits and support groups to strengthen your recovery process. Our medical providers are trained to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, like depression and anxiety. Referrals to higher levels of care can also be made if needed.
